27-year-old Kenyan defender responds to age cheating rumours with white beard ahead of AFCON 2019: Joash Onyango

Kenyan defender Joash Abong’o Onyango responded to age cheating rumours with a white beard head of the 2019 edition of the African Cup of Nations that starts on Friday, June 21 in Egypt.

Football Kenya Federation tweeted a photo of Onyango giving his age as 26 but many people questioned his age since he looks visibly older.

The Kenyan national soccer team is currently in France finalising their AFCON preparations their first match is on Sunday against Algeria before facing Tanzania and tournament favourites Senegal.

According to his Wikipedia profile, Joash Onyango was born on 31 January 1992 currently plays as a defender for Gor Mahia a football club based in Nairobi, Kenya.

He played for Shamberere High School (class of 2010) in Kakamega and made his debut for Kenya on 25 May 2018 against Swaziland.
