Comedian Volodymyr Zelenskiy wins Ukraine presidential election with 73%

Ukrainian comedian Volodymyr Zelensky won Ukraine’s runoff presidential election with 73% after voting on Sunday, 21 April 2019.

PovoNews.com previously reported that Zelensky won the first round of Ukraine’s presidential election with 30.24% after voting on Sunday, March 31.

With over 90% of the votes counted Zelenskiy had won 73 per cent of the vote with incumbent Petro Poroshenko trailing just under 25 per cent.

Before becoming a politician Zelensky acted in a popular TV series as a man who accidentally became president of Ukraine.
